About

I’m a PhD student studying links between Ireland and the Caribbean between 1770 and 1830. During the course of my research, I’ve read a lot of books, and have discovered so many great digital resources. My aim is to share links and reviews to help you find resources, and profile the latest research on the history of  the Caribbean. My ideal reader is not necessarily an academic historian—I’d like to help anyone doing research on the Caribbean, for pleasure, work, or study, and that includes those of you reading up on the Caribbean before you go there on holiday!

Please do get in touch with comments, questions, suggestions or requests.

The image link on all book reviews on this site will take you to Amazon. If you purchase the book from Amazon, Caribbean Histories will receive a percentage of the purchase price.

My website cover image is ‘The Western Ilands,’ by cartographers Thomas Cockerill and Robert Morden, dated 1680. The picture is freely available at the New York Public Library Digital Collections. This is a link to the image at the NYPL.
